Betadine Antiseptic Solution is the original aqueous solution of Povidone-iodine, for use as an antiseptic on the skin, mucous membranes, and wounds. It is composed of the active ingredient Povidone-iodine 10% w/v. It is used during casualty procedures, including the prevention of infection in burns, lacerations, and abrasions. Also treatment of various bacterial, viral, protozoal, and mycotic skin infections, including tinea, oral thrush, impetigo, and herpes simplex and zoster infections.
